“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” – John 1:1-5
Nightlight Flames
Smoke in the airStench filled
Billows
Of ashen tomorrows
Burnt and bare
Embers and ash
Cinders and trash
A light
To Illuminate
The night
So darkness does not
Overshadow
With fright
Courage stills the steady hand
That knows no flame

“And what communion has light with darkness?” – 2 Corinthians 6:14
“I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” –John 8:12
“This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” – 1 John 1:5-7
