“I think it pisses
God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice

Color Purple
Alice Walker
Never met a purple shade
That she did not admire
Which did not persuade
Her regard for it would not tire

Beautiful poem Robbie-Glad I found you through the blog hop with Tony :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading Linda!
ReplyDeleteWas that Tony Dekoter?
A wonderful poem...and the quote is fantastic...purple is the best color ever...this, is yet another wonderful reason why! Loved it, Robbie!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much! I loved that quote as well. . .
Deletethe royal color....how can you not like that...smiles. to stand in those fields as well...very nice..
ReplyDeleteSome things are created to be noticed... purple is one of those things
ReplyDeleteIf this were my poem I'd change flower to flowers in the 7th line - it doesn't detract from the rhyme, where the stress is in the 'ow' sound rather than the 'er' ending. Apart from that, this is a fine poem. Purple - what's not to like :-)
ReplyDeleteLove that color purple and that is an excellent quote, really enjoyed the poem too:-)
