Sidestep

Sidestep

If I’m shifty

Eyed

Would you

Let it slide

If I’d elude

Would it be

Misconstrued

If you’d reflect

And I’m

Circumspect

Don’t reject

If you’d persuade

And I’d evade

Would you’ve stayed

If things were eschew

Would you

Know what to do

If we circumvent

We’ll never know

What it meant

You push my buttons

And I push your buttons

These buttons

Look like labyrinths

In the way they swirl

And look—In pattern

These buttons

Have rings like Saturn

These buttons

Conceal and hook

These buttons reveal

All that we mistook

Did we miss a button

. . .or was it overlooked?
